About the Institute:

The Institute for Connecting Science Research to the Classroom (ICSRC) is a confederation of independent laboratories, centers and sponsored research projects from seven colleges on the Virginia Tech campus.

With over 300 research projects sponsored by NASA and NSF alone, Virginia Tech serves as a testbed for a variety of investigations that have tremendous potential for impacting education in science, mathematics and technology.

What We Do ...

The logo of the Institute reflects its three areas of focus:

  • providing service to public schools
  • promoting intercollegiate collaboration
  • developing corporate connections

While service to the public schools is the area of emphasis, the Institute has a K-16 reach.

Designed to bridge the world of research and development and the world of educational applications in science, mathematics and technology, the Institute offers a core of six programs that provide services in brokering, translating and training.
